There are a lot, and we mean a LOT, of those out there who have a furry best friend. And New York City is, of course, no exception.

If you live in the city with your pup, you know that it’s not always the easiest thing to do. Lawn space is very limited, walks take a lot of work, and it’s near impossible to get your pup the huge yard space that they deserve.

Don’t even get us started on apartment space. Your dog deserves to spend some time outside, experiencing the city and all that it has to offer with you.

If you love to go out for a nice evening drink and you love hanging out with your dog, get both of yourselves out of the apartment and onto the scene by checking out these incredible bars in Brooklyn that allow you to bring your puppy with you.

Luckydog

Just as the name suggests, this bar is a place where your dog is sure to feel pretty dang lucky.

Luckydog is a cool dive bar located in Williamsburg. Dogs are allowed inside as well as outside, which is what makes it such a hot spot for dog-owning New Yorkers to grab a drink with their pups. Of course, the dogless are welcome, too, and many of them enjoy the cheap happy hour drink specials. (Side note: there is a bit of a fee for using a credit card, so come prepared with some cash if possible).

Its brick walls and games will make it your new favorite place to grab a drink, and the backyard will make your dog feel right at home, too.

Public Records

If you’re looking for a dog-friendly bar that has a bit of history, you need to look no further than Public Records in Brooklyn. This bar features three separate rooms: a hi-fi record bar and dining room that showcases some rare vintage collector’s records and features a Vegan food and drink menu, an intimate performance space, and a coffee and record shop.

You can hang out with your dog on their beautiful patio while indulging in a Vegan brunch with cocktails, stop by for a cup of coffee and buy a record yourself, or even catch a small live performance. This unique bar is a great option for music-loving dog-owners, for sure.

Post Bar

If you’re looking for an eclectic spot to hit up with your fluffy best friend in Bed-Stuy, you’re going to want to check this place out.

Post bar features a beautiful patio and hosts live music events, open mic nights, and themed parties year-round. They’re huge fans of a classic boogie night and often center events around dancing the night away. They often host pop-ups and private events, if that’s something you’re into.

Bring your dog here to lounge on the patio and enjoy one of their specialties: a Mezcal Margarita.

Dromedary Urban Tiki Bar

If you’re looking for something just a little bit different in the Bushwick area, you’re going to want to grab your pup and head on over to Dromedary Urban Tiki Bar.

This bar offers tiki-inspired drinks (of course) in a rustic-chic atmosphere. They also offer all of the delicious friend classics that you crave after a few of those fruity tropical drinks, with a menu featuring delicious shoestring fries and loaded fried pickles. Their “special sauce” is called Flamingo sauce, which really brings the whole vibe together, if you ask us.

Grab some board games and hang out on the patio with your favorite puppy, enjoying the bright, colorful murals painted on the walls of this unique Brooklyn bar.

Evil Twin Brewing

If you’re more of a brewery person and not looking for all the frills of a tiki bar but want more of a romantic vibe, you and your dog need to check out Evil Twin Brewing.

This bar is located in what looks like a big greenhouse, complete with big fancy picnic tables and outdoor spaces lined with twinkling lights. The ambiance here is refined and classy, offering indoor space with beautiful potted plants and, of course, an outdoor space where you and your dog can spend some bonding time over an IPA (for you, not the dog.)

Bring Your Best Friend to a Night Out

We love our dogs, and it’s hard to leave them behind in the apartment, even for a night out. Check out one or two of these dog friendly bars in brooklyn for a new favorite hang-out spot to enjoy with your furry best friend.
